Me & B in the Great White North:
It has been a while since my last post……and Winter has since arrived in North Bay. It arrived quite late, apparently. I was quite surprised that the month of November was very much like it would be in Vancouver……mild, wet and grey. Over the past weekend we received about 20 cm of snow, and the temperature plummeted to -14º C. Another 10 cm is forecast for the next couple of days. Today, in full winter wear (well, me anyways), Bentley and I headed out to enjoy the winter wonderland. Everything looked beautiful, especially because it was a clear and sunny day. The snow is dry, light powder and makes me wish there was a mountain with more vertical than a couple hundred feet.

Bentley loves the snow, especially when he has other dogs to romp around with. His favourite thing is to find hidden treasures (stinky dead things, usually) buried in the snow. It's crazy that a week ago, Bentley was swimming in Lake Nippissing. Today, he ran out on to the newly frozen lake, nearly giving me a heart attack for fear of him going through the thin layer of ice. It is definitely not completely frozen yet with tons of open water still. Luckily he came back when called, without incident. We met up with one of Bentley's friends, Callie. They ran and chased each other through the snow, falling on their faces occasionally. They wrestled and romped around in the snow making me wish I could enjoy the snow that much.
